I'm working on all of y'all's requests. We'll see how much I can get accomplished. If I can get an ISIS wedge or two, will you promise to take it home?

My other comment is the summer months are the busiest for sound gigs. Doing this after Labor Day will allow some people to attend that can not because of their work load.

Exactly, and Bennett, why Friday or Saturday?  I was excited until I read that the only people who are capable of attending are people I wouldn't wanna hang out with in the first place.  A club full of school teachers and dentists trying to play soundmen really sounds like it'd be a great party, but unfortunately I've got a casino gig where the martinis & crab legs are free, and the large breasted women in short skirts are plentiful.  Damn.

Anyway, I'm quite sure Jason Ketchem and myself could make the drive.  Pick a less busy time and we could bring one each of the following:

EV XW15
EV FS115
EV FS212
EV QRx115
JBL SRX712m
JBL MRX512m
JBL MPro 412
And maybe a new JBL VRX915m

Oh, man, an endorsement deal... I wish. World famous touring engineer I Rolling Eyes. I'm working on that JBL stuff, I know there's some set aside for Lee already, so hopefully they can spare another wedge or two.

I'll make sure I have factory-vetted DSP for anything that doesn't come active. Right now that looks like Lake, DriveRack, and maybe XTA.

No need to be an asshole, your majesty. Most of this board's most respected posters do this as a "hobby" because they love it but know it won't pay the bills. I'm certainly still in that category, along with a bunch of other students. If we were all fancy full time engineers like yourself, I don't see how enough people would have time to post to keep it a living breathing message board.

I'm working on other dates with John. It's not my place, so we've got to hop around other things he's got going on. I'm sure we'll find a date that works for most everyone.

I know, I know. It's a real problem. I'm seeing a shrink about it. Unfortunately, we both ended up on her couch, so now I'm off to find who else my insurance will pay for.

I was just messin' around.  Fancy full time engineer I'm definitely not, which is unfortunately why I cannot attend.. I must work to pay the bills just like everyone else.

I'll be watching the thread to see if the dates shift.  Oh and don't bother with finding a new shrink.. It sounds like the old one is the best shrink any man could have. Very Happy

- just curious on what sort of 'test' environment you were planning on setting up.

have you thought through a process which each flavor of wedge can be subject to?

are you going to use any electronic medium as a reference/tool (smaart?) (meters will always lie, but, your ears aren't exact either)

program material, band, voice?

what sort of constants (and rules regarding) are you making to EQ to begin the testing, - what sounds best to someone vs. out-of-the-box (with suggested dsp).

do you plan on looking at each wedge individually before A/B'ing anything?

(just wanted to peek inside your head)

I won't be able to attend any of the dates yet posted, pesky full time gig and all, but if someone is passing through Central NJ on the way with room in the truck I would be glad to send an AM12,12 VFX, and Dynacoustics M121 and M152 wedges, with reespective power and processing. Oh, and you'll have to pass by this way again on the way home...Smile

I'd like to attend. I would bring the McCauley SM72. I would only hope that we'll be able to give them all a test and listen. Do you have a system in place to quickly do the tests?

I'd like to see someone bring an EAW LA212 since that's I've been using and like.
