Final

Here's what I've decided to go with:

Numark's DVD01

http://www.numark.com/images/products/overview/dvd01_overview.jpg

Reasons why:

No OSD
Large timecode display with cue's
Dual DVD's
20 min pause time
Menu buttons on the front (not just on remote)

Price: Around $800 to $900 makes this a deal. I know numark gears more for DJ but this has much more added then I could find on more professional models.

The only lack is no RS control and only digital and RCA audio outputs. However since I don't use any RS applications this is no problem and I can get over the audio connections just fine.

Joshua,

We have sold and installed many of these, here are some of the reponses they gave back.

1. The load time takes way to long, it needs to be faster.

2. Track selection is slow and sluggish.

3. Ejection is very slow on occassion, unit seems to keep trying to read the disc after the eject button is hit.

I have sets of the entire system set up in nighclubs and churches, for some it will work well, for others it seems to be very slow.

I do know that the only problem I have had with any of them is not the dvd player but with the three screen display. It started to fade out at times and finally went to a static screen as it lost the signal input from the source. Replaced it and the second one has had no problems thus far.

Thanks for this information Bobby. I tried to find someone who was using this already to get a demo but nothing was available in this area.

I like to know as much as I can before making a purchase. I think for the price it's still worth it. Since we run a rental company I'll just through it in the customer rental pile if it doesn't pull it's weight.  Razz

BTW, I've noticed 2 of these problems with many DVD players both home and pro.

The loadtimes suck on some and others it loads right away. Also I've had the same eject problem on my Sony home system. You hit eject and the thing takes freakin forever to popout. Like it's thinking about it or something.

For what you are using it for, I don't see any problems with this unit for your needs.

Unless someone was truly wanting to beat mix with it, which is near to impossible anyway, general playback of the unit works great and the ones we have sold over the last year have done well in the field.
