I am going to get a demo on the Echolab Opera 3408 soon, and I'll let you know.  On paper, its my first choice because of the mix of analog and digital I/O, which saves money on conversions.  I also like the expandability of it.  I also looked (on paper) at the 440HD, and it doesnt seem even close to being in the same league as the Echolab, as far as features go (and there isnt a large price difference between the two).

I'll give my mildly-educated review soon of the Echolab.  I hope to hear some other opinions.  What is your application?
