hi guys i'm looking to put together a 5.1 system for coporate work and was wondering if any of you could point me in the direction of a couple of bits of kit

first off a suitable rackmount dvd player - i've seen karaoke ones but they tend to be on the cheap looking side anything a bit more 'pro'?

and the long shot - a loudspeaker management system suitable for 5.1

i need a one box solution to this to save on space it doesn't have to have digital input but it would be nice

i was going to build some self powered active speakers so they'll have internal xovers meaning the LMS really only needs to cover delay, EQ and sub xover duties - 6 outs would be enough

anyone?

thanks in advance

Well I can't help you with the LMS w/o some research, but the rackmount is fairly easy.  Personally I don't know if this is the cheapest way but it is simple, find a DVD player that you like, does not really matter as long as you like it.  Middle Atlantic makes custom shelving and faceplate for almost any make and model.  They are very nice and sturdy.

Hope that helps.

I have been running a series of events doing surround from a pair of pioneer 563's...about $129.00 at circuit city or the like.  Biggest challenge was getting something that would decode everything: DTS, Pro logic, SACD, etc.  I rack two of them in a 4 space rack tray using a banding machine.

The Denon DVD player that Phil posted is great. it has a real sturdy feel and is rs-232 controllable.

now all i need is a suitable LMS with digital input or a decoder i can plug into one without
