Hopefully soon they'll find a way to do dual boot. Right now you have to restart to switch operating systems, switching windows would be a lot slicker. I've gotten kind of use to having 2 laptops with me on shows though. I can let one be a show computer while I surf on the other. I do have an Intel Mac though, I may look into this.

Actually, my LAST computer was a Mac (and the one before that, and before that, etc.) I have one at work, and five of them at home.

I started with Macs in 1988 and never looked back. I think I was using System 3.2 back then.

Nice to see the rest of the world catching on though....   Shocked

Cool  I started in 1984 with the 128k Mac. I remember replacing all the non-socketed memory, and changing the processor with a "chip clip" arrangement. Back then we were excited by MacPaint! I just paid $500 less for my dual processor 2GHz MacBook Pro.   Shocked

I'd rather just run XP in a window then... that way when I get tired of it I can close it, but on an Intel based machine it should run pretty durn fast.

Well Andy, I thought the idea of getting a Mac was to not have to have any Windows based products at all. Perhaps they can just make sure the software companies recognise Apple as a system that they need to make software for and all problems will be solved.

Still if I go into Comp USA 99% of the store is geared toward PC and the Mac stuff is thrown into a tiny corner. Until that changes, I'll buy my disposable PCs.

Um... My PCB layout and schematic CAD, mechanical CAD (aluminum and plastic extrusion design), graphics software (faceplate and ads), microprocessor programing and debugging environment, etc....

While I suspect I could cover most of those in MAC (Graphics is probably stronger in MAC), some of the engineering apps are strongly rooted in windows.

=====

I bought a mini mac a few months ago so I can partition my email contact with the unwashed public away from the MS environment and easy reach of all those evil coders, but the new popularity of apple may finally make them a serious target too...

===========

In my limited experience using MAC (this time around) I sometimes encounter "are they talking Klingon" moments when some junior MAC user tries to convey a proper digital file format or transfer protocol.

Just what I need... more jargon to learn..... Rolling Eyes
