I've got four Uni-Par UP-2 colored cans that I like. I'm thinking of buying some more pars and am trying to decide if I want to go with conventional Par 56's, or stick to the more expensive plastic Uni-Par UP-2's (Yes, I know they are essentially P38's.). Does anyone else have experience with the Uni-Pars? Besides costs, what arguments are there in favor of regular cans?

Regular PARs get hotter, which make them nice hand warmers on a cold evening.  They clank when you hit them - definitely more musical than then clunk of the UniPar.  Regular pars eventually attain a nice vintage look from all the dents and chipped paint - much hipper than the UniPar's unblemished finish.  And regular PARS cost less, reducing the loss you take when you finally sell them because they look too crappy for a professional to be working with.  With UniPars, you never get the satisfaction of buying new replacement stuff - again.  And again.
