Slanted Rack for LS9-16
« on: February 17, 2011, 11:02:49 AM »

What slanted rack is available for the LS9-16?

I'm looking for something with about 10-12U underneath for racking up wireless mics and other equipment.

Thanks,

I used the oddessy, it works great but I had to do some modifications. You will need to lower the top set of rack rails so that the lid will close over the tilted screen of the ls9. This also involves chopping about an inch off the top of the front ralis to accommodate.
It took me less than an hour to do the whole lot of it.

Road Ready offers some high quality racks just for this purpose. Years ago I turned to Riad Ready and have been happy ever since. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but amoung the best.

I bought a C4UE-P-22 from EWI cases

Perfect for me, medium duty, good quality plus I'm a fan of EWI Cases.  The right size too,  my LS9-16 doesn't hang over the front rack rails.  4 rack spaces below or you can get a variant with 6 rack spaces.

But can you apply the lid with XLRs patched into the LS-9?

I bought a couple of these a couple of years ago, and that is my only issue for LS-9 use.

BTW I think right angle XLRs solves it.

The rack slant mixer case I bought (C4UE-P-22) from EWI is a relatively new item (6months??), it's a full 22" deep so the LS9-16 fits nicely on the top rack rails.  Deep enough that the XLR's on the back stay connected with just enough room for the lid. I have two Behringer ADA8000 in the rack spaces below, those XLR's stay connected as well.

The 22" depth makes all the difference.  All my XLR's are straight, no issues on the front or back with this 22" depth.

EWI sells the same configuration with 18" depth, that model is more suited to a MixWizard size.

edited for typos ;-)

You might look at the OSP, 25 inch Deep Case.
