Nice looking speakers for house of worship install
« on: February 02, 2006, 09:15:24 pm »

Esteemed Commentators:

I am looking for a pair of mains to hang on the sid walls (or maybe two pair) to do light speech reinforcement in a small church (seats maybe 150).  The problem for me is finding something that looks nice and/or melts into its surroundings (light-coloured wall paper).  Wood grain cabinets would be nice, but I don't want to break the bank.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
Robert

Good quality loudspeakers are available unfinished or stained and at the same cost or slightly higher than standard black.

Peavey, EAW, EV, JBL, Renkus Heinz and others offer them.

Another possible option is to use column loudspeakers that can be painted to match the walls. But you would first need to determine if these work coverage-wise, have enough output versus power handling and provide low enough frequency response for your programming. Bose, EAW and TOA offer good column loudspeaker devices.
