Fast Frog?
« on: January 23, 2006, 11:24:51 PM »

Hey there,

I am considering the purchase of a Fat Frog for our production company.  It will do all of the things that I need it to do. It's affordable although not cheap.

Do any of you have any comments on how reliable these are. Also are they well accepted on Technical Riders (we do mostly audio and very little lights) or do lighting guys not really care about what console is there?

Thanks in advance for any replies and advice!

If your doing regular conventional lighting, they're great.  They can do up to 12 movers but don't try to get super fancy with your programming as I think you'll be disappointed or at least in my experience.  I haven't tried the newer software so it may have gotten better.

For movers, you're gonna want the external video monitor.  I haven't had any problem with the ones I've installed.  I actually just got one for myself for conventional use mostly.
