I hope so, because from what I've heard there's not going to be a new mixer, at least not in the PM1D segment.

You were lied to, sort of.

Rumour is Yamaha will be showing a new modular, digital "mixing solution" at Musikmesse.  How/if it will fit in the mold of PM1D I have no idea.  And the rumour could be wrong, again.

Have fun, good luck.

I heard the same rumor as JC, and I hope Tim is correct. Several years ago Yamaha published a "white paper" that laid out where they though digital audio consoles were headed. It mentioned a lot of things that I was also thinking about. It seemed like a tease of an upcoming console, but then one never appeared. I do hope that is what makes its debut at Messe. If it matches the white paper, which can no longer be found, it will be a powerful entry in the high end market.

Mac, I vaguely recall that paper, too.  At the time I didn't grasp the depth of where they were headed, or I'd have saved a copy.

Whatever it is, Ethersound will be at the heart of it.

Have fun, etc.

The date stamp on this tells me it was last opened by me in or around September 14 of 2009.

And, btw, Mac was my source for where I heard the latest rumor of no PM1D replacement.

wait, I thought we could post .pdfs on the new forum?

Well, here it is in .jpg format. PM me and I'll email you the original .pdf
