I agree about the quality of the tone...mine's drifted off frequency a bit, but I've got a little program on my laptop that can output precision tones with cheap soundcards that my Fluke 189 says are right on the money...but anyway, the best mod for the Q-box is to grab a motorola belt clip, so it will stay on your belt (and saves space since it doesn't sit above the top...mine has a nice little inverted hook at the end of the clip to hold it on my belt while I'm inverted  

The Q-box is about the best quick tester for general work...Doug's speaker tester would be the only other item I could use on a regular basis (well a digital version of the Q-box would be cool, but I'm sure that would Quadurple the price)

FWIW, in regards to all the people that have their Q-Box turning on all the time in the toolbox, I keep mine in a regular Shure mic pouch, and I've never had a problem with that.  And everybody has a few pouches sitting around, or so I assume.  Just a thought.
