Why are the comps and gates on the floor?
Put them in a smaller rack that you can set up at a height that doesn't require you to squat on the floor to adjust the things.
And since you're gonna ask "how often during a set does a dynamics processor need to be adjusted?" the answer is: the band plays a slower/quieter song so the drummer plays softer. As a result, the gates won't open, or will click, unless they're readjusted or bypassed.
I see this soooooo often it makes me wonder if the dude mixing actually knows what the fuck he's doing.

Andy you're such a realist. Ya worry me 'cuz that's what I was thinking! Tiring of wiring a rack full of crap, I have joined the O1V96 camp. Now if I could just find an ADA8000 in stock (backordered from American Musical Supply since mid October).
BTW anyone got some inside poop on O1V file formats so I can do some custom programming? Cursoring to each stinking letter sucks. Now that I've paid hard earned cash I guess Yamaha can come out with version III that accepts a USB keyboard. FWIWBIT (for what it's worth besides I'm tipsy) the O1V96V2 Midi interface works well with the MD8. Heck, if you're gonna hijack a thread go for the gusto, eh? My apologies to all in advance. What a week
