I've turned off the firewall and have tried to run the Active X control....

Tools/Internet Options/Security/Internet/Custom Level/Download Unsigned ActiveX controls -> change to "prompt"

Tried that and it's still giving me the same warning????

Just install mIRC, it's much easier if you are having browser issues.
