Martin Freekie controller/Chauvet instrument compatibility
« on: September 23, 2005, 12:50:18 PM »

I have recently acquired several Chauvet products: the 250DMX color changers, stage wash 900's, and a couple of CH605 intimidators. The manufacturer claims that any DMX controller should work with these units. Has anyone actually tried a Freekie controller with these Chauvet fixtures?
Thanks for your responses.  John A

OK... I'm not going to tell you I've tried the Freekie controler, 'cause I haven't, yet, but there's nothing special or different about the way it outputs the standard DMX bitstream. So as long as your fixtures are all addressed properly, you will have no problems with this combination. I do own several Chauvet products and currently control them with an Elation desk, but I'm seriously looking at the Freekie because of some of it's features.
Are you having a particular problem?

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your response. I am contemplating purchase of the Freekie. I don't want to order it unless I am sure it will work.

You Should be fine.   I have 2 Chaurvet Omeg 1 and have no problems controlling them with the Freekie.  FWIW I do like the Freekie controller as well.

I use the Martin Freekie controller with 8 Omega 250C color changers, 4 Intimidators and 2 Robo Rangers and have had zero problems with control. Just make certain that you use a terminator on the last fixture in the chain.

Works great and very easy to program.
