JBL SRX718S or Yorkville ls608?
« on: September 10, 2005, 07:24:44 AM »

I have two JBL srx715 tops and need some subs. Would you recommend the srx718s or Yorkville ls608 and why?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

I expect youd pay premium price for the JBL gear?
Just how much better is it? I havent heard the yorkville sub so cant compare. At low volumes id expect both to sound rather similar.

2268 DD 18" vs 'regular' 18" ?

relative to the fundamental, in the 2268H driver.

Excellent.  That's an interesting way to improve motor symmetry, isn't it?  And they've incorporated aluminum to draw radiated heat out of the motor structure too.  Lower distortion and better power handling.  Excellent.

Yeah, my first impulse would be to get the sub that matches the other gear most closely, like the 718S. That way, both speakers would be designed to run out of gas at relatively the same point. This was a question for the Lounge, though.
