What is the best way to array 2 or 4 horn loaded subs?: A)stand up right next to each other B)lay them down on their sides, bottoms touching (2 over 2 if using 4)or C) lay them down on their sides tops touching.?

On the ground (halfspace) the optimum is to have the physical subs and the reflected ground image form a square.

Arrange the subs so the width is twice the height.  When combined with the reflected ground image, it will be a square.

Splitting the subs to either side of the stage loses the combined area of the horn mouths, which raises the lowest frequency where full horn loading occurs.  Maximum loading occurs when all the horn mouths are together.
