New venue design ideas.
« on: August 05, 2005, 12:05:12 pm »

Greetings, everybody.  Hope this is the right forum. Smile

I'm knee deep in a new venue design, we've got the floor plan laid out and are filling in the details at this point.  I'm looking for suggestions on the little things.  What makes your life, or the lives of your talent or audiences easier?  What do you wish your space had?  If you were bringing a show into my venue, what would you expect or like to see?

A little bit about the space:  I'll have a 20'x30'w stage, a 15'x30'w back stage, and a 90'x40'w main hall.  There's a 600 amp, 3 phase main service with a dedicated audio sub-panel.  Our focus is live music, but we want to keep it as flexible as possible.

Thanks!

This question has been asked several times over the years here at LAB. Search on key words and you will get a wealth of information.

Are you utilizing a qualified consultant to design acoustics,  loudspeaker systems and sound system wiring (including AC power) systems ?
