Rane C4 and G4
« on: July 20, 2005, 05:49:56 AM »

Hi guys

There was a review of the C4 in FOH online.  We are currently in the process of upgrading our insert rack.  What do you guys think of these units?  what would a BE think if he turned up and had to use them?

The review was really good, just wondering what people who had used them for a while thought of them.

the other option is lots of drawmer units  Very Happy

cheers

I never used the C4, but I had the G4 for a while, and it's the slickest gate around.

I can't imagine anyone using it and not likeing it.

you can read some other thoughts about the G4 I jotted down here:

We have a G4 (supposed to have two of them, one of them was back-ordered, how does that happen??) and it truly beats all I've ever heard in gates. An amazing piece of gear. Try setting it up on headphones and you'll be further amazed. Tell yer visiting guy "Try it, you'll like it".
Hoping to get my hands on a C4 soon.

The bummer is the 2-rack space requirement.

Not so much of a bummer if you're replacing the (overrated) DS201s.
