"Sound Weapon" to be used on Gaza Strip
« on: June 10, 2005, 10:25:17 AM »

Israel is considering using an unusual new weapon against Jewish settlers who resist this summer's Gaza Strip evacuation -- a device that emits penetrating bursts of sound that leaves targets reeling with dizziness and nausea.  Shocked

Well Tom, your country needs you.  Join up with The Marines ("The Few, The Proud"), they want your non-lethal weapon technology.

The Marines Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program website

Quote:

OBJECTIVES AND DESCRIPTION:  The Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate (JNLWD) is soliciting proposals for research, development, integration, and demonstration of next-generation non-lethal weapons (NLW) and capabilities.  ... to include: ...

Human effects relating percussive and continuous sounds...

Just how big was that kick?

You might wish to ponder why The Marines are looking for non-lethal weapons, just who they are going to non-lethally point them at.  You would have to guess that the average Marine would rather have a lethal weapon if he/she is facing armed combatants equipped with lethel weapons....?  I suppose it could be for any of the other members of the "Joint" group (DoD, USMC, USA, USN, USCG, SOCOM), but its under the banner of The Marine Corps.

Hmmm, I guess the D9 EQ wasn't getting the job done?

No I mean literally...

Although I guess they weren't using them on the same targets.

Some people are very resistant to bad sound. I think many of them congregate here. Personally, I tend to draw the line at hearing damage, nausea, and dizziness, but I still sometimes have to get on commercial airline flights. The nausea is not so bad if you avoid eating airline food.

Just fire some Barbara Streisand toward 'em and they'll drop their weapons and come out with their hands up. Better yet, send her over and let her do it in person. Maybe one of them would do us all a favor... Twisted Evil

Why would Israel use this on the Jewish settlers? I would have thought it was for the Palestinians.

A Sailor and a Marine are using adjoining uninals in the ships head. The Sailor finishes and leaves. The Marine finishes, washes his hands, and leaves.

Back outside, the Marine sees the Sailor and says to him "In the Marines they teach us to wash our hands after we take a piss".

The Sailor responds "In the Navy, they teach us not to piss on our hands."

Because the Sharon gov't has ordered that the settlements be abandoned, and some of the settlers have declared their intent to stay.  It's all very interesting in how it pits one right-wing faction against another.

Jeez, you learn all sorts of good stuff on this site! Surprised

I suppose, after hearing a few news reports of the goings on over there, that they would probably use less 'people friendly' methods on the Palestinians.

Oh we live in a sad, sad world. Sad
