Times?
« on: April 19, 2005, 09:28:49 PM »

Is there a reason that the board time differs from reality by -112 minutes for me?

Probably because you're a couple timezones off and the clock you see is SERVER time, not your time. Gotta pick a number somewhere, and re-calculating all the date stamps on a per-user per-timezone basis would take a lot of CPU.

Also, its clock is off by 10 minutes or so Wink

Nope, I've played with the timezones, and they are all wrong, by the same amount.

Then I appear to have spoken too soon. It must be that the server's time is off, and there is a discrepancy between Daylight Savings Time and the real world as well. That would create exactly the problems we're seeing.

Of course, why any machine wouldn't be syncing its clock over NTP is beyond me.

This place is beginning to remind me of a 5 year old Lexus-you know, the kind that has one temporary spare tire, 3 bald tires, a dented fender and a smoking motor; where the buyer could afford to buy the car off lease, but could not afford to maintain it. It is sad to see something so nice, get into such a state of disrepair.
