1U graphic EQs?
« on: February 13, 2011, 04:53:25 PM »

Hi: I have a small space in my rack and would like to add a 1 space EQ. One side for mains, other monitors. I can only find dual 15s. Anybody make something with dual 30 or 31?

The only analog one I know of is the Alesis M-EQ 230. It's cheap, it more or less works, it uses a wall wart (external power supply) and it has unbalanced I/O. I don't know if it's still in production. If you go digital there are more options, including the Alesis DEQ 230.

Do not use the MEQ 230, it is the most useless piece of 'audio' equipment known to the profession, truely a piece of crap.
The Behringer DEQ2496 is better in terms of audio but has the downside that the physical interface is not so handy.

i used to carry a driverack 260 for gigs in small unfamiliar clubs.  in one rack space, it offers plenty of processing for mains or monitors, should the need arise.
there are some other multi-channel digital eq options on the market, but most are at least 2-spaces.  if it's really important, it may be necsesary to re-evaluate the other gear to free-up a space in your rack or get a bigger rack.

Some truth in that hyperbole. I think it gets some competition for that title from Alesis' own 3630 compressor. But I've used worse.

Don't think I'd stoop as low as the meq 230 but I'm open to digital. Any opinions on the DEQ 230?

The 260 looks like itwould work but unfortunately it's more than I can afford. Believe me I've thought about finding room for a 2 U but can't seem to swing that right now.
