the 400 amp rating on the E1017 on page 9 is due to the max size wire, being 4/O, which itself is 400 amps. the E1017 standard is rated upto 750MCM wire, or 690 amps, so depending on which version of the connector, you have certain ampacity ratings due to the wire size.

Ok, Like Dave stated the ones I am using say 235A right on them
and that is way they say 2/0 on the cut line. So that answers
my question any way their is a 17 series and the 16 series goes up to 400A. Thanks, Nathan KDS&L

Yea, like the others said it's up to the wire. Most of the rubber, cut to fit Cam-Loks have multiple rating written on them. Personally, I HATE the Crouse-Hinds cams and any others that are the same style. Pain in the ASS to ASSemble, etc. We use the Advanced Devices CL series ONLY now. The others aren't satisfactory weather tight anyway...

You will mostly see the big ass 690amp Cam-Loks on things like large generators to jump to a step down transformer (like 480v to 208v). Makes sense they would be used at carnivals for that reason.
