Well I did the mod to the mixer, it was very quick and easy and it works very well. I’m sure this is going to baffle a few DJ's who wonder why they can't get the red light to go on. how will this affect the mixer outputs? I assume that you can still induce clip by turning your mix out lvl to high?

Keep an eye on the EQ knobs and the filter sweep knobs. I bet the DJs will use them to turn their sounds back up into the land of distortion. At least you have a clean start.

C'mon, would you give that to a DJ?

Twisted Evil

Nope! How would he know when he was loud enough? Rolling Eyes

My recommendation would be crisis counseling.  Very Happy

Lol,
Not all of us DJ's are that poor with our mixing habit's just most of us. I guess I pay a little more attention than your average DJ because I’m a Communications Electronics Specialist. well that and the fact I don't like replacing gear due to stupidity.

This mixer is very good at keeping low distortion even when overdriven. I’m not sure why this is, but it seems to be a trait of Allen and Heath DJ mixers. The EQ pot's only give them +6 so this is still much better than the combination of input gain (+10) and EQ pots. as long as the loudspeakers put out enough spl I doubt they will notice any difference except that their mix sounds better.
