Chauvet ILS Controller and DMX(Intimidator) lights
« on: February 05, 2005, 09:27:37 PM »

I just recently picked up the new Chauvet ILS Controller and Trackscan Barrel, but I need some help understanding how to address and program with my existing Intimidators into this unit.  No matter what combination of dip switches or values match the board controls.  I can explain in better detail.

No help with those specific things, never used them.  But looking at the picture of the controller in the ads, my GUESS is that controller doesn't allow for fixtures with different amounts of channels, that it assumes an 8 channel (or maybe 6 channel or 9 or 10 or whatever) fixture.  That's typically how most of them do it.  So assuming that is true, you'll have to find out the number of channels per fixture it is set up for.  If the one fixture you mentioned is the only one you have, set it to address 1.  I assume it has dip switches, a bank of little on/off switches with numbers 1 - 10 or maybe 12.  Here's a chart explaining the switch numbers for MOST lights.  http://www.martin.dk/service/dipswitchpopup.htm   I say most because some mfg., realizing that there is no address zero, made all switches off equal to address 1, making the chart I linked you to incorrect.  For further assistance check the manuals.
