Sub-mixer - 4-8 inputs
« on: December 16, 2004, 04:39:05 PM »

I'm looking for a small sub-mixer (rack or not) that I can use for sub-mixing when I need additional channels.

I have an older model Mackie 1202 and that has the right feature set (minimum 4 mic pre's with inserts, pre-fade aux send, PFL monitoring) but was considering either getting a new model with the XDR pre-amps (is it worth it??) or getting something similar/upgraded from another manufacturer. Size is important and rack-mount is fine too.

Any recommendations?

I would recomend getting the newer 1202. The XDR preamps are nice... You may also want to get the 1402, its got a few more channels just in case...
