I have a customer that asked about getting some protective cages around some light fixtures hanging in an all purpose gym.  Anyone know where I can get something like that?

The only caging I've seen is an ecodome, which is more for protecting moving heads from water when in use outside.  But they won't do anything for a ball or something since they're inflatable and rather expensive.  I'm thinking you want more of a wire frame cage, but I don't know where to get those.  My guess is that the mfg. should have something.  Or contact the electrical contractor who built the gym, if they're still around.

They make enclosures for several types of instruments. I have used the Hurricane, It has worked great for our needs. I don't have a clue as to the price.

Thanks for the replies.  The Hurricane looks like it will work...the fixtures are six Roboscan 918's.  

Jeremy...would they protect against a stray basketball or vollyball?

The case is pretty strong, it should hold up to some punishment.  The window is Plexiglas, so it should not break.

Contact the company and ask them. We use ours outside to protect the fixtures from the environment.

I would look for a local fabrication shop and have an angle steel frame made with expanded metal to fit over the lights. Probably cheeper than molded fiberglass enclosures. Can be painted to match the gym.
