Martin S bin and 215 MK III
« on: December 05, 2004, 09:55:19 pm »

While doing some research, I came acrros these two horns.  The S Bin is rather impressive.  Has any one done a DIY of these horns?

It seems like Martin was really into the horn loaded multiple driver(dual 15's) subwoofers.

How good were these boxes?  Are they available today?

I'm glad martin finally put discontinued products on their

website.  the 215mk3 is supposed to be the predecessor to the f2

bin, it looks like almost the same cabinet.  i think the s bin

is the inspiration to the wsx.  i think we never hear much about

them is because they came out about the same time as everyone

thought 2x18 reflex bins were the greatest thing for sub bass.

i think they were ahead of their time and had to build the bsx

to be competitive because everyone thought bass horns had to

sound like cv earthquakes or w bins.  when eaw came out with the

kf940s people started looking at bass horns again.
