Yep. It was definately hijacked a little bit.
I don't care. As long as the original post is still there.
It's a good comparison of three different types of box..
(bandpass, horn & vented direct radiator)
and all three boxes are fairly current in their technology.

Hi,
Not trying to "hyjack" your thread, but I just thought I'd let you know we just finished a couple of Bill F's "table Tuba's", his latest design. @ just over 8 cubic feet and using the HL10 this looks like the closest thing to a 'baby' labsub yet. We haven't had a chance to measure it yet but first impressions are that it goes well into the 30 hz area. This little puppy really cranks! Shocked

Thats all I have for now I'll drop back in when I get more.

Do you use the Table Tuba in sets of four? I look at its small mouth and then I have to ask if clustering them would do any better.

I have to mention this because I didn't see it in your post.
Be SURE to have the other subs out of the way or set outside when testing one sub. If the subs were close to each other they could interfere with the results. The other two subs not used may become passive radiators effecting the performance of the sub being tested.

Post some pictures as well. Would love to see them.

If you are using different subs at the same time you might try putting the single sub in the middle and the Yorkies L/R.

Kindest Regards

Be sure and monitor development of the Prosound Shootout.  We will post measurements for each of the systems after the event next month.

no wood cut yet...um...not talking like sub already built... Rolling Eyes

anyway back to the OP,

great little review of three popular compact subs, looking forward to hearing more about the table top tuba, looks interesting!

about mixing subs tho, not advisable, apart from path length differences and what not, differing phase response will cause you all kinds of grief, id recommend sticking with ur mackies for small and then deciding which is the way to go yorkie or tuba for bigger stuff.

cheers and good luck
