Bearded nutcase and former Queens Of The Stone Age bassplayer Nick Oliveri seems to have finally lost it.

The problems seem to have begun when Oliveri took a disliking to what he thought was a bad sound and jumped off the stage, fought through the audience to take up his grievance with a soundman. Unfortunately letting his fists do the talking, he was finally pulled away, but not before he managed to break the nose and teeth of the engineer.

This seems to have occured in Germany.

I was not all pleased to be reading about this first thing in the morning as I prepare to leave for a gig. I cannot even begin to imagine what possessed a muso to leave the stage and rush to FOH and have a fist fight with the soundguy. What an incredibly stupid thing to do. He is lucky that he didn't try it with me, or many of the other soundguys I know, or he would have ended up in pretty sorry shape himself. The guys I work with would have my back, and would pound anyone stupid enough to try such a stunt.

Hmmmmmm...... Sounds a lot like Ike Turner back in the day! Heard a story about the exact same thing happening here in Rochester NY back around the beginning of the 70's. If this Oliveri dude has a wife, she might want to think twice if he asks her to sing for the band! ; - )

Jeez, It usually the monitor guy that gets jacked because of bad sound.
