Chrisani,
The SLS ribbon drivers sound fantastic. I haven't heard the Alcons.

ijam,
Where did you hear it? What setting? Concert, choral, acoustic?
Do you know what model in the SLS line?

Chrisani,
I've heard the 8695's at a blues fest here in Indy, and I own a pair of us8290's. The blues fest was outdoors and the sound was exceptional. The guy who did that gig is at www.padrick.net and has some stuff on his web about them. I've done sound for many bands from bluegrass to pop and I guess the best way to describe them is that they are faster and more articulate, they just have a cleaner clearer sound than their compression driven counterparts. Feel free to e-mail me at chris@ijamusa.com if you wish for more info.
