some info on intercom/paging sys...
« on: April 04, 2005, 11:17:36 AM »

Hello, I am mainly a studio/live sound install guy, but I pick up things here and there on the side... A friends place needs an intercom/paging system. I've provided links below to see the space. I have already installed a 70v speaker system there, so program/background music is not an important feature to me. Can someone maybe throw me a bone or two about what system/brand they would use? Before I start searching the web not knowing much about intercoms, I'd like some tips and info from you people...the pros.

I think I would want around 12 stations, give or take a few.

Thanks guys!

Don't think I have ever installed an intercom system, and I've never even seen one in at least 30 years. The reason is that telephone systems are far more versatile and practical. They provide all the intercom features you could want as well as everything else at a cost that's not much more than a stand alone intercom system.
