Any trouble with damage? I can see it working on plasitc or coated, but have you tried it on untreated paper? I know the double side tape can be REALLY strong. Where do you get it? Carpet stores? My ESL's are held together with double side tape. Roger Sanders told me it will not come off woithout special chemicals or abrasives so perhaps what kind or brand makes a difference.

I just use the 3M stuff you can buy anywhere (wally world, hardware store, etc.) for hanging posters.  I've used it on the back of the HL10 cones which are similar to the Lab12 cones.  It pulled off a little bit of fuzz but not enough to cause any damage.

Btw, you're not really supposed to use double-sided tape to mount an accelerometer, but like I said, it's worked fine for me.
