Pyros (XLFX?)
« on: May 31, 2004, 03:13:45 PM »

Does anyone know what happened to pyrotechnics company XLFX? They had a stand at PLASA a few years ago but haven’t seen anything of them since, are they still in business?

Anyone have any experience of their controllers? We’re about to replace our controller, which went AWOL last year and were looking at alternatives to Le Maitre.

Cheers

Well, they've got a website - http://www.xlfx.uk.com/ - but it seems to be very sparse on details, and implies they're not yet producing pyros, so I guess the same would apply to their controllers. I tried some searches and could find no retailers...

Yes, I know something about them - I know both partners quite well. We ( www.carshaltonpanto.co.uk ) Beta tested the control equipment for them in our Pantomime this year. It's a nice system. They have a distributor appointed in the SE England:

http://www.pslx.co.uk/store/pyroframe.htm

and I believe the hardware is now orderable. There has been some delay on the pyro production (can't go into details) but hopefully they will be available soon. In the meantime, Le Maitre products are fully compatible.
