I used my modified mackie SR32.4 (all auxes postfader/post eq)monitor board with 6 mixes the first time last night since all the upgraded amps (PLX 2402). It's nice to have a happy band. They had contacted me the day before, made sure I had their most recent input list and stage plot, and asked me to be sure and have all the lines checked before they got there. It makes for an easy night when the band gets there and sees that everything is set up the way they asked for it. They were most appreciative for a smooth, quick sound check with no surprises or problems. A touring Christian band doesn't get what they ask for very often. They said my monitor rig was like they were traveling with their own rig. Now if the room had just sounded a little less like a cave. "Experts" had designed the "multi-purpose" room for sound and had bombed, it could not have been much worse. The stage was a megaphone. SOO!!! All that sweet tone on stage became a nightmare to deal with at FOH. Win some, lose some!!!!!!!!!!!! 900 warm bodies helped immensely though, during the concert. The lady who hired me for the job slipped me an extra $50 at the end, so all must have been well!
