How to link to other threads
« on: April 19, 2004, 03:03:29 pm »

When helping people out it's nice when you can give them a link to past discussions on the subject.  Suppose I want to display a link to post #390 in this post. How would I achieve that with the new software?

Timoetus,

Here is one way that works if you want to go by post #.  This link is to your post in the LABsub forum.  I just copied and pasted from the browser's address window in this post and changed the number after index.php/m/ to 520 and added the url tags. For example #520 is your post on the LABsub forum.  Dave: If you see this, is this an acceptable way of doing this?

Or the fancy way!

Nicely done Scott.  For the "Fancy Way" I'd like to see that done with a dialog box (like on UBB and clones) other than having to do it by hand, but that will have to be added later.
