Spirit M-series mixers
« on: April 09, 2004, 12:18:16 PM »

I have been looking at the Spirit M8 mixer for a small pa/recording setup that would be used for vocals and piano/organ. Maybe an occasional (acoustic)guitar but no drums or bass (through the pa). Has anybody used this mixer? I haven't found many users, just people asking for opions on mixers in the same budget class (around 500-700Euro).

The Mixwizard series is very tempting but it really is a overkill, we only need about 5-6 channels. I'll have to wait for the series 3 to come out, to see if the price is within my budget (already gone about 75% over my original budget).

The speakers I have been looking at are EV sx300e powered by rmx2450.

The Spirit M8 looks like a good entry level board. Have you looked a the E series?

Yes i have also looked at almost all the mixers in the price range... It just seems the M8 would be pretty perfect for this application but I'm leaning toward a mixwiz3 now. I'll just have to wait for them to be released... Hope they don't cost too much. It seems they are almost competing with the venice.
