Marked as Read?
« on: April 08, 2004, 10:33:55 AM »

I like the new forum, but I have a question about posts being marked as read. Maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to tell the difference when looking at the tree view of which posts I've already read, unlike the old forum where it was very obvious by the color difference.  Maybe it's something subtle that I'm just overlooking?

Thanks and kudos!

There's a color difference here too. Either red or blue.

Atleast on my screen  Rolling Eyes  Smile

EDIT: It's the icon on the left that changes color, not the text. That's the difference.

OK no problem.... it only changes color if you are logged in as a registered user.  I knew it had to be something simple, but it actually tells you that when you do a mouse-over on the icon

Thanks,

hmmmmmmmm

well it did  work like that just a second ago, but now it's not.  I'm registered and logged in, so I'm still confused (no surprise there).

I am having the same problem. There seems to be no difference between posts I have read and posts I have not.

Over keen marking as read?
« Reply #7 on: April 17, 2004, 05:24:41 PM »

Not quite the same issue but to do with read/unread problems, i find that if i start reading a topic which has many replys, before i've read them all they all get changed to read so i get lost as to which i've read and which i haven't. Is this just a problem with me or have other people had the same issue?

I've noticed that as well and documented it though it appears that's the way it is intended to work which on a long thread, well, sucks.

Keep the comments coming...

While I don't care what the forum looks like or what special views I can get, I do need to be able to tell at a glance what messages I have not read.  If you can't fix this major flaw it will be very difficult for me and many others to use the LAB any more.

BTW Spell check rocks!
