Multiple quotes in a response

(1/1)

Tony "T" Tissot:
I can't figure out an easy way to carry quotes from a prior post forward.

ie

Joe quotes Bob,

I want to reply to that post and show both Joe and Bob's quotes.

Modify:

When I "Quote" a post that contains a quote - the prior quotes get wiped from from my post.

 - One view is that this way keeps the board from getting cluttered.

 - The other view is that my response may loose the context of earlier posts.

Andrew Broughton:
That's pretty common in forums. Keeps the messages from becoming unmanageably long. You can imagine the scenario in a long thread where everyone keeps quoting the previous message. It would become unreadable.

You should be able to pull quotes from each post with SMF by clicking on the quote button on the posts you want to quote from. Let me test...

Yep. It works.

Click "Reply" then scroll down to the message(s) you want to pull quotes from and click "Insert Quote".
