Would you mind sharing any info concerning their efficiency and low wattage design? I know you toured with a Q rig some years back.

I don't know something weird seem to be going on with the website, for some reason I had lots of difficulty typing a reply, my cursor kept jumping to the message icon area.

Franz -

I toured a big C4 rig in 2003.

Look at the C4 specs, understand how loud it gets (face peeling loud if you need it), look at the D12 specs and the ONLY conclusion one can draw is the loudspeakers are HIGHLY efficient.  The same can be said for the entire range, I imagine.

I think they have it right, personally.  Who cares about the amplifier output potential if the loudspeaker system is loud enough?

I don't know from where the transducers are sourced.  They may even build them in house, but I don't know.

There transducers are mostly b&c and YES d&b work with the idea that very very efficient cabinets and low power amps (D6 & D12) is the way forward.

It is ;)

List maybe 5k but who ever pays the list price .... and when your buying a d&b system your be buying quite a few D12's :)

List is getting closer to $6k these days for a D12. You can get it for much cheaper, but not for $3k, thats more like a D6 :)

Not much is known about their organization structure compared to other audio companies, I wonder why?

La Acoustics - Dr Christian Hell
Danley Sound labs - Tom Danley
Nexo - Francois  Deffarges
Fulcrum Acoustics - Dave Gunnies

We are not talking about used here...at least myself and im guessing Thomas were not. But I can promise you, a NEW D12 in the US is more then $3000 USD...maybe your currency exchange is off a tad :)
