What is your favorite simple line mixer?
1. Would like balanced inputs and outputs
2. Line level input switch is a big + (XLR input)
3. Minimal amount of inputs.. say 2 xlr 2 rca (think dj mixer and an ipod)
4. Preferably no EQ or other knobs that may confuse operator
5. Cost less than $500 retail
6. mountable (rack or wall w/ bracket)
In a perfect world I have 4 knobs. Input A,B,C,D (or 1,2,3,4) volume and thats it. Maybee a clip light. 2 XLR/line balanced inputs and 2 rca inputs with simple XLR output. Mono is fine.
rolls RM82 is my top contender
Rane MLM82 looks good
RDL RU-MX4L looks awesome but not really mountable
crown audio 14M looks good but barrier strip may be a deal breaker
Nady RMX 6 looks promising
ART MX622 maybee - but approaching too many knobs to 'mess it up'
shure scm268 would be good if it had pads/line input (perhaps in line pads would work?)
any other suggestions?
