need recommendation for 3 watt wider beam bright LED par64 can
« on: September 20, 2011, 03:26:16 PM »

Looking for recommendations for 3-watt very bright par64 LED cans with a wider beam for side stage washes.  I have ADJ Pro64 LED cans but they're not bright enough and the beam is too narrow.

What budget?

Knew I left something critical out -- thanks for the reminder.  Let's say about $300 per fixture.

A bit out of your budget per fixture, BUT with the amount of coverage you could use fewer fixtures:

http://www.venuesupply.com/detail/mega-tri-bar-led-with-18-x-3w-tri-color-leds-flicker-free-for-tv-video-4362.cfm

I've used both on larger stages, and the Zoom is really versatile, and quite bright. The Tribar is really bright, and a single fixture can cover quite a bit as a side wash.

I've also used these recently, and they are in your budget range:

Blizzard Rock Light RGBA or Rocklights RGBW
You can get them in different widths - up to 45 degree, they're bright and if you know where to buy, under $300

The Rock Light RGBAW is just a hair over $300

(Not sure what pricing is on the rock light tri and quadra, but I'd check before buying.  the tri and quad color LED's that combine the color behind the lens are worth the investment)

I've been VERY happy with the Chauvet LED PAR64 Tri-B fixtures for exactly your application. 18x3 watt LEDs, 22degree beam angle/42degree field angle. Very smooth field. AC receptacle for daisy chaining AC as well. $299 most places.

The Chauvet LEDpar 64 Tri looks like a nice can, and it's reasonably pried.
(Saw them at $231 + shipping today)

however...
LEDPar 64 Tri spec is 4190 lumen at 1m (22 degree beam 42 degree field angle)
ADJ Pro64 LED spec is 5320 lumen at 1m (20 degree beam)
If specs can be believed, the full on of the OP's ADJ light is brighter than the Chauvet light.

I noticed the Chauvet SlimPar Pro Tri at $287 plus shipping also
It's rated at 9600 lux at 1 m on the 20 degree beam / 38 degree field angle setup.
Might be an option.  Got to love how much light they crammed in a small package!

I bought a few of the Chauvet Par 64 Tri LED fixtures to try out on a show and was so happy with the results that I now own 20 of them with palns to purchase more.  The output is incredible and having the Tri LED's means that I dont get the weird multi color shadows like other fixtures with the separate red, green, and blue LED's.  The price range that I have paid is $170 (used) to $249 ( refurbished and new).

A couple places.
Try NSL.net and KPODJ.com
NSL is as good as anyone on Chauvet.
KPODJ is close to NSL on Chauvet and is the best I've found on Blizzard stuff.
I'm sure both will match the other.
