Something that may be considered is budgeting this year for some of the major portions of this rig and renting the rest until next year. The money you don't spend on rentals could be put away and put towards the rest of the system.

For an application like this, i would recommend downgrading from the SLX series of wireless micas to the PGX series.  They are about half the cost and should be more than adequate for what you are wanting to do.  I think you can usually get them for around $300 each.

Oh, God no. The PGX is never right for anything.

If all you can afford is the PGX, use a wired mic.
