Looking at getting a couple of followspots. The biggest room I currently work is about 200' x 100'. Depending on the event they will set the stage at either the far end or in the middle of the 100" side. I am looking at the altman comet..specs mean nothing to this noobie. Any advice is appreciated!

A Comet isn't going to do much of anything at 200 feet.
You're in serious follow spot territory with a throw like that.

Well, I wouldn't be back at the 200' mark with them..I could in effect be up around the 100' mark or so on either side. Looking at the specs it puts out 880,000 candela at all but the flood throw which is 330,000 candela.

You may be ok at 100 feet.
However, I suggest you take a serious look at the Satellite instead.

The 1.3K Lycian units are pretty nice, but I believe they are significantly more expensive.

If used is an option look into a used Trouper of some sort.
BML is currently selling a few Xenon units.

Have a look at the Phoebus I-marc 850. The smaller I-marc 200 does well at a 75' throw and is very bright for its size, extremely quiet, and cool to the touch.
