A quick skim of full report and the Power Point from the executive summary finds lots of pointed fingers.

The engineering analysis from Thornton Tomasetti and report from Witt Associates (disaster planning evaluation) can be downloaded from this link:

http://www.in.gov/sfc/2343.htm

The full Thornton Tomasetti report is over 500MB, but has thousands of pictures of various modes of failure, some relevant and others less so.

I've only skimmed the full report and went through the slide show of the executive report so I'll not make any judgments, except to say IMHO "Jersey barricade is absolutely unsuitable for use in guying roof structures."

I have heart this collapse in China, it's a big loss to all workers in Pro audio, we lose the trust the audience give. God will not help us to do the rig! We must question ourselves, why this happened?
Do we check the truss after construction? Do we follow the weather forecast? Do we have stuff to assure the safety of the venue? or we have buffer zone(safe distance)?

Use this thread for followup news.  No speculation, no photo analysis, etc.

IOW, news only.

Doug,

This might cross over into the analysis realm, but I wrote a cliff's notes of sorts on the very lengthy Thornton report on soundforums.net: The starting link is below. Feel free to whack the post if you feel it violates the thread's intent:
