Hanging Truss in Club
« on: August 02, 2011, 11:20:33 AM »

Hey guys. Doing a small install of some lighting truss this weekend in a club.  I have 2 6 foot sections of standard 12" truss.  Looking for a proven install method.  The only fixtures going up are standard LED par 64 lights, 4-8 per truss.  I was initially thinking about the aircraft grade steel cable to hang from the support ballasts on the ceiling.  Three contacts on each truss.  Any other ideas or methods you guys would suggest? Thanks!

I try not to use cable over 12" long because of the wiggle factor, but it's a perfectly safe way to hang things. Threaded rod is a favorite of EC's and HVAC guys, but make certain that you use safe rigging practices regardless of the method.
