EtherSound and TCP/IP with Yamaha SB168
« on: January 20, 2011, 10:31:00 PM »

We've got an M7CL-48 with an MY16-ES64 and an MY16-EX with a pair of SB168's set up in ring mode.

I'm not able to check for a few days, but would anyone happen to know...

Can I use the extra Cat5 jack on the back of the Yamaha SB168 and one of the extra Cat5 jacks on the MY card to hook up TCP/IP devices?  System architect for example?

Or do EtherSound and TCP/IP not play together?

Thanks!

It is "possible" to tunnel data on the ES line. However, there are no obvious hard & fast rules about what will / will not work. Best bet is to try it when you can afford to have a mistake.
