Soundcraft Spirit Live, no pre-fade muting? Really?
« on: June 29, 2011, 11:15:53 AM »

I'm using a Live 4-2-24 at the moment, built in 1995. Had this concept not yet been developed? Is it just a shitty board? Is it simply not designed for running monitors from FOH? The manual includes instructions on using aux sends for monitors...

What's the deal?

RTFM, it's selectable via jumpers.

Darren, thanks for the tip, but I'm looking at the manual and it doesn't say where these jumpers are located or what to do with them. Is it similar from console to console?

The manual mentions the jumpers but doesn't give actual instructions on opening up the console and setting them.
It's pretty self explanatory when you see them, but if you're not sure, it's probably best to have your local service centre do it for you.
It was the first thing I did when I bought one of these many moons ago.
Cheers,
Darren

Ive found this on several consoles from Mackies to Crest's. Not sure why they configure them that way but it's common. I suspect there's a good reason for it but I can't think of it.

Old Mackie 1604's do this. I say it's..."sombody's idea of a good idea."
