Car speakers ran on a wall outlet?
« on: June 20, 2011, 02:53:20 PM »

Hey guys, I need some help here. I am a football coach that knows very little about sound equipment other than I love loud music.  8) My high school just built a new school within the last few years and I am trying to help get music capabilities in the locker room (both home and away). I have some car speakers (12" sub x2, mid x2, and tweeter x2) I am wanting to use as our temperary fix until i can convince the tech. guy for the school to install something more permanent for us.

What would I need to do to make this happen? I know i will need some type of inverter for the DC/AC situation since I will probably use a car amp. What could I use other than a car amp? I am on a limited budget since i will have to probably donate any materials for this project.

I tried searching on the forum for something to help me out, but didn't notice anything. so if someone could point me in the right direction or provide some feedback, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Go to Best Buy and get a boom box. It will beat trying to cobble something together with your car audio gear.

go on craigslist and buy a $30 receiver.   Use an 1/8 to rca and an ipod.
