Ground rules (compared to old forum) !
« on: January 19, 2011, 06:46:34 am »

The real name was a mandatory field, and now  it is non existent.
It was part of the ground rules at the KHE.
In my opinion, it's a setback.
Wasn't it possible to make a scipt and import the old userdata to the new one ?

The "name" field is the real name field. When you register you are entering your user name, your displayed name is from the "name" field, and must be set in your profile after you have registered.

It was not possible to use the old member database.

I hope all moderators will realize the logic of requiring all posters to register with their full real names.

I understand what Franz is saying. On the old forum, your user name was your "handle", and your real name could be seen if people viewed your profile, or in your sig line if you chose to put it there. Now, if you enter your name in the "real name" field, it is your handle.

I like my user name the way it is. I've put my real name in my sig line. That's what a signature is really for, isn't it?
