I was wondering what others do if a FOH tent is not an option for an outdoor gig to protect a digital console from the direct sun/heat. I just had to replace a card on my board because it got so hot under the direct sun that it locked up. Is a tarp enough, or do you need sometype of reflective blanket to help?? Thoughts and suggestions.

Well shade is shade and that tarp probably could buy you enough heat protection to keep the console alive as long as your not in the desert. But you're gonna look pretty darn slick mixing from underneath the tarp. I guess that's the other kind of wow factor?

But if the client seriously objects to providing cover for several tens of thousands of gear are they willing to assume the liability for the possible damage?

Do you have one? If so, what kind/brand. So far, all i can find is the really cheap one that are put into a first aid kit, that wont last but 1 gig.

I found this on a google search, ended up finding this same one at a local backpacking shop and it works great. It is waterproof as well, so it makes a very good thing for FOH even with a tent.
